This weekend was all about the smell of fresh snow and springs sunshine. It's quite an odd combination, but what to do: it's still winterwonderland here in April. Some friends piled up the snow from their yard into a 4 meter high pile and im sure their kids will be sledging into June.
On Saturday there was an event in the botanical garden, something about birds and stuff (i didn't pay much attention to the newsletter). We ended up going and building a birdhouse for the starling (Sturnus vulgaris). The house should be put up soon, but there is also information that some birds have turned back because of the cold, and will be coming later this year. About the summer there is already a saying: the bad news- it will be a rainy and cold summer, the good news- it will be short.
I thought we already did the rainy summer gig? Oh, well.
What is great though, is that we have planned a one month holiday for July.. There were also plans for a wedding, but we postponed it for next year, since too much would be going on for just one summer ;)
