 Under strict supervision..
a cake was promised to be made. it did.

A present for dad: local handmade chocolate

the heart in the middle said: verdens beste pappa. true-true.

I guess this is it with the nice outdoor photos for a while... for a couple of months, unless we get to see some aurora action, but exept for that... some moonlight maybe too ... if i can figure out how on earth this camera should work in complete darkness, yes, other than that, it's indoor only, and on auto-mode and fuzzy. Yey!

Good monday and drink less coffee :)

Bisous!

We're back. Not much luck with beach-weather, but it was still nice. Different air and moods. And the food! S is a wonderful cook, creating anything from nothing. It's always a treat for all senses to travel up there. Driving back was hard though, from 11am to 18.30 pm being on our way. I'll have to hurry up and do my licence! :)

Hiiumaa

Time is flying, almost racing. Our neighbourhood kids have been sleeping in the bungalow outside for a week or so, which means loud noise till midnight. I feel a bit jealous, they're having a lot of fun.  It's been raining mushroom-rain. And i've stared making to-do-lists. That can mean only one thing.... soon. These weeks will go fast.
Last days have gone sorting clothes, reorganizing drawers, making plans how to move some furniture, when and how to meet up with people and all that. It's just funny how nature works.

Tonight we wanted to host a dinner and ended up doing so, despite the confusion about who's gonna cook the lamb, and that in the middle of my rice-cooking our electric-system just crashed. For two hours, before guests should arrive. So when the first guests arrived... we had almost nothing. Not even music to cheer us up. For a moment i felt overwhelmed and lost. It did turn around though. Juss got to play with friends and the dinner-lamb our friends cooked was just so delicious.

My try to make a chicken-quiche failed, it suffered a horrible death. The chicken never go to meet the oven. Sometimes pastry just does unimaginable things. Or i'm just not friends with it. We'll see what will happen to the chicken tomorrow.

Nighty-night!

On the longest day of the year (the 21th June) we decided with some friends to make a evening picnic on an old football-field. Nobody took a ball with them, but maybe it was for the best. Us and all the babies got to stay up quite late, firstly because it didn't seem to get late at all :)) On the picture i think it's already past 10pm.
When we arrived i was so hungry, that i only managed to get the camera out, when our picnic blanket looked like a big mess. It's evidence of how relaxed and easygoing everyone were, i think. With 5 toddlers running around, it was only natural :) and unavoidable.

Now it's July. Already. Three months to go with my grand belly.

Summer, be gentle and nice to us!

The cherry-tomatoes are growing well on our porch. We'll see what's with the big ones. Oh, i just got so sleepy, that i might start another post tomorrow and leave this one like it is. With just the golden treasures we have grown. To be precise then i might add that the green thumb is more of a Martins deal.

Hope you're spending some nice holidays! We do love the summer, right! :)

Dandelion syrup - the reason i forgot my second last painting-class.
After reading this recipe, i was hooked. I see a bright yellow dandelion field from all our windows and was determined to try it out. Of course you can't use the flowers from the city, therefore we headed to the countryside. On a not so sunny Sunday. The thing is, that if i try to add something new to my everyday routine (like making this syrup) it's with the cost of sleep. But anyways. This yellow gold is gorgeous, smells great and tastes sweet as honey.

Now we only need to find the time and energy to make pancakes, so we could actually use this up :)

Being in the countryside made us also realize something about life in the city. We both want to hang out more in the woods and fields, outside with nature. But a one-day-trip is rather a haste through it all. Not being completely relaxed, looking at the clock, to see what time we should be heading back, doesn't make our little boy relaxed either. And when he finally got to like the long grass, it was time to go.
Our friends who tried living in the countryside, gave it up after one summer, because they'd rather miss the country, than live there and miss the city. That is a good point. But i guess, we also don't want to give up a dream without trying. We need to find it out ourselves.

(The blue topping is made by me, the two others by a friend. Charming, right!)

Just in case anyone is also suffering from a cold or even flu, here's a little energyboost recepie:

-one cup of cranberrys.
-half a cup of honey.
-ginger,
-lemon,
-and garlic (or onion.. as you prefer)  as much as you like. (but not more than a half a cup, i think, unless you'd like it really gingery (: )

I had one slice of lemon, two pieces of garlic and a half of a smaller ginger-root.

Mix it all together in a blender and voila! Done.
I just ate it with a spoon during the day, or with pancakes, or bread.
I got this recepie from my mom, to get better soon.

The best way to store cranberrys is in water and in the refigirator, not without the water in the freezer, because they could dry out there (yes, stuff dires aslo in the cold).

Hope you're good!
